Discuss what would happen if someone jumped or fell from that spot.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>PRAISE GOD IN THE GATES (BEFORE ENTERING THE CLASSROOM DOOR)<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Today&#8217;s story is about satan trying to TEMPT Jesus to disobey God. But Jesus obeyed God through every TEMPTATION (ideas that are wrong).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Satan tried to trick Jesus with lies but Jesus HELD ONTO THE TRUTH (the Word of God). God&#8217;s Word was sharp like a sword. The wilderness is a hard place to be. \u00a0There are no grocery stores in the wilderness, no houses or hotels, no restaurants\u2026 it is a desert place. \u00a0While Jesus was there He was fasting; He was saying NO to food. \u00a0He was hungry for God. \u00a0He was listening to (feeding on) God\u2019s Word and praying. His Father was making Him strong on the inside.<\/li>\n<li>Well, along came that sneaky snake. \u00a0Remember him? \u00a0He\u2019s the one who tricked Adam and Eve in the garden. \u00a0He wanted to destroy Adam and Eve so he told them a lie. And, oh no, they listened to the sneaky snake!<\/li>\n<li>Now, satan wanted to trick and destroy Jesus! \u201cIf only he could trick Jesus and get Him to listen to his lies,\u201d he thought. So satan said, \u201cJesus, you have been saying NO to food. \u00a0You must be very hungry. \u00a0If You really are the Son of God, why don\u2019t You use Your power to turn these stones into bread? You need bread to stay alive.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>But Jesus shook His head and said, \u201cNo, satan. \u00a0The Word of God says, \u201cMan needs more than bread. \u00a0Man needs the Word of God.\u201d Jesus did NOT listen to satan. \u00a0He listened to God, His Father.<\/li>\n<li>Humph! \u00a0Satan was mad. \u00a0He didn\u2019t trick Jesus. \u00a0\u201cI really want to destroy Jesus!\u201d \u00a0So he tried again.<\/li>\n<li>Satan took Jesus to the roof top of the Temple and said, \u201cGo ahead and jump off the roof, Jesus! \u00a0If You are the Son of God, angels will catch You!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>But Jesus shook His head and said, \u201cNo, satan. \u00a0The Word of God says, \u201cDo not test God.\u201d Jesus did NOT listen to satan. \u00a0He listened to God, His Father.<\/li>\n<li>Humph, Humph!! \u00a0Satan was mad. \u00a0He still didn\u2019t trick Jesus. \u00a0So he tried one more time.<\/li>\n<li>Satan took Jesus to a VERY TALL mountain and said, \u201cLook at all the land and all the people, Jesus. If You bow down to me, I will give it all to You!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>But Jesus shook His head and said, \u201cNo, satan. \u00a0The Word of God says, \u201cWorship only God. \u00a0Do not bow down to any other god.\u201d Jesus did NOT listen to satan. \u00a0He listened to God, His Father.<\/li>\n<li>Humph, Humph, Humph!!! \u00a0Satan was very mad. \u00a0He could NOT trick Jesus. So satan left. Angels came and took care of Jesus.<\/li>\n<li>Jesus was stronger than Adam and Eve. \u00a0And Jesus is stronger than satan. Jesus had God\u2019s protection. \u00a0The Word of God was protecting Jesus from satan\u2019s lies! JESUS always OBEYED His Father! He will help us obey God, too. God wants us to be safe from the sneaky, lying snake.
