ARMOR OF GOD / BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS Part 2 / Apostle Paul

THE CONVERSION OF PAUL ON THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS

Acts 9:1-22; 2 Cor 5:21; Romans 5:1; Is 45:8; Ps 146:8,9

ON ROUTE TO CLASSROOM:

  • Stop at the life-size tracings in the hallway. Each child stands in front of his/her poster. Using their pointer fingers, review the 6 parts of the ARMOR OF GOD.
  • We are talking about the Breastplate of Righteousness today. RIGHTEOUSNESS is making RIGHT CHOICES. It’s the opposite of wrong choices.  We have all done wrong things. If we tell God we are sorry, He will forgive us. JESUS will help us do what’s RIGHT.
  • Teach ASL for RIGHTEOUS (doing what is right; following God’s Laws)
  • Each student labels their armor with THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS sticker pdf   (if not already done)

PRAISE GOD IN THE GATES (BEFORE ENTERING THE CLASSROOM DOOR):

  • Today’s story is about a man named Saul. Saul did not believe Jesus was the Son of God. He didn’t like people who believed in Jesus (Christians). In fact, he arrested Christians and put them in jail. Today, we will hear the story of Saul’s amazing encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus!.
  • Let’s declare the truth: JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD!  Believing in Him makes us RIGHT with God.

Students must tidy up the centers where they were playing when the timer rang. Teachers/Helpers oversee this activity.  Students learn to sort and return items to their proper place.  In so doing, they are learning to take care of the classroom.  It also helps them be prepared for dismissal.  Once the centers are tidy, students move to the BOOK NOOK and quietly look at books.
