ALL ABOARD!! CHOO-CHOO!

TRAIN A CHILD IN THE RIGHT WAY TO GO!

REFERENCES:

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he grows older he will not abandon it.

Isaiah 55: For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it produce and sprout, and providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My Word be which goes out of My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it.

EN ROUTE TO THE CLASSROOM WITH THE CHILDREN:

Stop at the stream train display. Tell the children: “We can pretend we are on a steam train and Jesus is the train driver/engineer. He wants to take us to good places! Here is your imaginary ticket. Your ticket is the WORD OF GOD. Are you ready? ALL ABOARD! CHOO-CHOO! Here we go!”

AT THE CLASSROOM DOOR/DECLARATION FROM THE WORD OF GOD:

TRAIN A CHILD IN THE RIGHT WAY TO GO! (adapted from Proverbs 22:6) Clap each word. Repeat.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: who, what, when, where, why…

  • Who makes the Laws about RIGHT and WRONG? (God)
  • Where can we find these laws? (In the Bible)
  • How can we learn them? (Read the Bible Stories with our families, talk about them, go to church, memorize Bible verses…)
  • Should people wait till they are old to learn God’s Laws? (No, children should learn them, too… learn them NOW… no matter how old you are)
  • Why should we follow God’s Laws? (God’s Words are LIFE; God is our Heavenly Father… we are His children; so we can WALK with Him, know Him, love Him)
