PRAISE GOD IN THE GATES (BEFORE ENTERING THE CLASSROOM DOOR):

  • Today’s story is about the coming of the Holy Spirit. Remember the story when Jesus went up in the clouds, back to heaven? He told the disciples He would not leave them alone. The Holy Spirit would come and be with them!
  • Let’s declare the truth. Clap and say each word: THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME / THE HOLY SPIRIT IS WITH ME!

Release the children one at a time, with their play cards, to choose a center.

CLEANUP: each child helps clean up the center where they were playing.

BOOK NOOK: Children are directed to read books at the carpet while waiting for their parents to arrive.  Students cannot return to play in centers after cleanup.

OVERTIME ACTIVITY:  Should the service extend beyond the normal dismissal time… Fun game that teaches about personal space / outer space theme:
